Age 80
Sister Kathleen Carroll was a Sister of Mercy for 62 years. Sister Kathleen attended St. Theresa’s School in North Tarrytown and graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry, NY. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and a master’s degree from Manhattan College in Bronx, NY.
Sister Kathleen ministered in the field of education, teaching in schools in the Archdiocese of New York for 38 years. In the year 2000, she shifted the emphasis of her ministry to the education of children with special needs, moving to Worcester and serving in the education program at Mercy Centre for Developmental Disabilities. She then accepted a position as an Advocate at Notre Dame Long Term Care, where she attended to the needs of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for 14 years, until her retirement in 2014.
