My short life in Mercy (I entered at age 49) has afforded me experiences and opportunities I never imagined I would have. Just meeting and getting to know the Sisters in Burlingame, and later, the many Sisters of the West Midwest, and quite a few in the larger Institute, has filled my life with a richness beyond measure. Ministry experiences have been challenging, very fulfilling, and have helped me understand God’s call to this life, for which I am most grateful.
Probably my most exciting ministry opportunity was to create and administer the Art for Healing Program at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California. Now, retired from active ministry, I am serving as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society, getting patients to and from their chemo treatments. I love it.
