Age 90

Sister Mary Thomasetta grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and attended Cathedral School and St. Bernard Academy, where she was taught by Sisters of Mercy. She entered the Community in 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Sister Mary Thomasetta ministered in Tennessee as a teacher, as pastoral associate at St. Matthew Church in Franklin, and to the patients and their families at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. After retiring from those ministries, she volunteered at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She also visited the homebound and provided for those in need. In addition, she sang in the choir at Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville. Her commitment to God was reflected in her ring motto, “Thy Will Be Done.” Catherine McAuley’s legacy of compassion and care for those in need dominated Sister Mary Thomasetta’s life.
