Age 95
Sister Mary Albert will be remembered as a faithful, prayerful Sister of Mercy, a wonderful teacher, and a loving family member and friend.
At the age of 18, she entered the Sisters of Mercy in Syosset, New York. For 45 years, she ministered as an elementary school teacher in the Brooklyn and Rockville Centre dioceses. For decades she ministered at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Hicksville, New York, where she endeared herself to generations of pupils and parishioners. After retiring from teaching, she served an as administrative assistant in the school. In her later years, Albert spent her time deepening her life of prayer, visiting by phone and in person with her family and friends, reading and solving puzzles.
