Age 96

Sister Ann was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in Pittsburgh at the age of 17. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Carlow University, an M.Ed from Duquesne University and an MSW from Barry University in Miami Shore, Florida.

Ann taught youth in various schools in the Pittsburgh diocese and was a guidance counselor at a few schools. Upon moving to Florida, she served the Miami diocese as a teacher, principal and guidance counselor in many Miami high schools.  

Ann worked with the Jewish Family Service of Broward County, and Catholic Community Services of Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

From 1993 until her retirement in 2002, Ann worked in public relations at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Ann greeted people at the hospital’s information desk and had the reputation of making people feel welcome. She loved attending social events sponsored by Holy Cross where she became the face of the Sisters of Mercy.
