Age 94
With an artist’s soul, Sister Ethel was a gentle teacher who mentored and encouraged her students to love art and to pursue professions that would further their gifts.
With a bachelor’s degree in humanities from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in fine arts from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., she taught art at Merion Mercy Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania, for over 40 years and at Gwynedd Mercy Academy in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, for six years.
An accomplished seamstress, she shared this talent with some of her former students by making their wedding dresses.
