Age 91
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Sister Mary Amelie entered the community in Webster Groves, Missouri, in 1948. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Loyola University New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sister Mary Amelie ministered mostly in elementary education in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri. In addition, she did ministry in justice. From 1997 to 2006, she was a volunteer at Catherine’s House in Little Rock, Arkansas, and from 2006 to 2009 was a volunteer case worker at the Center for Women in Transition in Little Rock.
She loved teaching and tutoring, especially for students with special needs. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling.
