Sister Mary Bilderback, who died in 2025, will be honored this spring with the publication of her book, A Common Wealth of Light: A Collection of Writings and Art. Click here to learn more about her new book.

Throughout her life, Mary wove together a rare blend of scientific inquiry, artistic expression and a profound dedication to justice and care for Earth. Her ministry touched countless people through her work in human genetics, her decades of service at Georgian Court University, her published poetry and prose, and her involvement in ecospiritual and peace-focused organizations. Her legacy of creativity, compassion and deep reverence for creation continues to inspire many.

Georgian Court University will host a book launch and opening reception on Saturday, March 28, 3-5 p.m., in the M. Christina Geis Gallery, Jeffries Hall (formerly the Arts and Sciences Center) in Lakewood, New Jersey. The accompanying exhibition of Mary’s artwork will remain on display through Thursday, April 16. The gallery is open Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Eastern Time but closed April 2–6 for Easter.
