JOB TITLE: Visual Communications Associate

JOB PURPOSE: The visual communications associate creates visual and audio communications to convey messages effectively and creates compelling stories for internal and external audiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, edit, assemble raw audio, and video footage and/or audio files into cohesive stories, ready for distribution.
Produce interactive and multimedia projects such as videos, web pages, videos, on-line advertising and emails, social media, and mobile applications.
At the direction of the design manager, scout/choose locations, set up lighting, record video and audio. Coordinate photoshoots and virtual recordings.
Selects and adds music, sound effects, and voice-overs to complement the visuals.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
Work closely with communications staff to create videos for specific projects and campaigns.
Collaborate with the communications team and other departments (if appropriate) to tell a story, enhance visuals, and produce engaging content for various platforms.
Ability to work often under tight deadlines, requiring dedication and the willingness to work efficiently under pressure. Other duties as assigned.
Organize and maintain a video library for the Sisters of Mercy and forward appropriate videos to the Mercy Heritage Center for archival purposes. Upload, backup and organize all materials created.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Competencies and Experience
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following education, competencies, and experience:
Demonstrated ability to effectively create and implement design solutions for different departments, committees, campaigns.
5-7 years of related experience and degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., videography, graphic design, photography, willingness to learn motion graphics, Ai).
Creativity and attention to detail
Design skills (research images, create slides, typography skills, follow style guide). Adding computer graphics and special effects to a video.
Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, as well as Photoshop, Lightroom; color correction software, knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Express, AI
Ability to clearly communicate the reasoning behind design choices.
Energy and determination
Bilingual (English-Spanish), preferred.
Excellent time managements skills, attention to detail.
Team player. Excellent people skills and the ability to successfully develop and manage relationships.
Prior experience in a non-profit organization is critical. Must be comfortable working for a religious organization. Knowledge of and appreciation for the role of women religious in the Roman Catholic church and society. Sensitivity to the culture and decision-making processes of a faith-based community a plus.
Ability to work independently with a proven record of meeting deadlines and deliverables; ability to think on the fly.
Flexible, adaptable, collaborative approach including ability to work in a changing environment, make recommendations for improvements, and receive feedback.
Ability to travel, as necessary.
